We Are In Our New Home

Well, it is done. We finished cleaning our Wellsville home Sunday afternoon and are completely out of that home and have gotten everything moved into our new Nibley home. Last week I took Wed thru Fri off of work, to spend moving and cleaning. I cannot believe how many boxes we have to unpack. Our garage is full of boxes in no certain order. It's probably going to take me at least a month to empty boxes and organize and put everything away.
We couldn't have done it without all the help we got. Members of the Priesthood (of our Wellsville 7th Ward) came over Thursday night and helped us move everything out of our Wellsville home. For fear of missing one of them, I don't want to try and list them all. To them THANK YOU! We wouldn't have been able to get it done without you! And when they left it was very hard to say good-bye. Wellsville 7th Ward will always have a place in my heart!
And then on Saturday morning, Sara, Irene and Shanell (my friends at work) came and helped me clean the Wellsville home. Again without their help I would have never gotten it done! Thank You so much!
Also, I need to thank Allen & his family for coming over and helping us get the few rooms in the new house that needed painted.
And of course the obvious, but never getting acknowledgement...Ralph, Matt and Alex. All three were true troopers! Packing, moving and cleaning! and now they have to help me unpack!!! The joy continues!!! And it may sound silly...but thanks to Chris, Jason and Erika...continually encouraging me, over the phone , to de-junk, organize and pack. And now that I am unpacking, I am still being told that there is more that I can get rid of, so I will have enough space in our house for everything! Lesley came over Saturday night and helped me decide where to put a lot of my pictures for decorating. Now I know where I want to put a lot of them, it's just getting them on the walls!
And if I have forgotten anyone...I didn't mean to. Thanks to all that has helped me in the process.
I love our new home. It is a tri-level, which is the type of house I have always wanted. Once I get things in order or at least semi-order I will post some pictures.
As I close for today, just a thought that has been coming to my mind...now that the holidays are officially coming upon us...THANKSGIVING! I hope that all of us will truly take a few minutes on a daily basis and ponder our blessings and truly give Thanks to our Heavenly Father and to those around us that bless us everyday! Sometimes, we ponder more on our trials and problems that we forget what is truly important in our lives! Enough for now!
Again thanks to all that have helped my family in the move and just for being around.

Never mind...

okay so never mind, I still have to do some more experimenting before I try putting more on...sorry, we will have to get caught up later.
Have a great weekend!

Getting caught up on pictures...

I kind of figured out how to add pictures...just don't know how to place them, so hopefully you'll get the picture (no pun intended, well actually there was) I mean you'll get the idea...see the things that I have been blogging about...

In All Fairness

Last time I wrote, I was pretty down and negative. Then to top it off the Sunday School lesson I had to give to my 12/13 yr old class was "Be of Good Cheer". So needless to say I felt pretty guilty and realized that I truly am blessed. Even though we are having a lot of trials and challenges, I was reminded that my Heavenly Father does love me and is there for me. So I started thinking of the good things in my life. I love my family and am so blessed with the love that they share with me.
I actually was blessed to go down to St. George for 5 days. I got to spend some time with Erika and her friends down there. It was so good to see them and play with them. It was kind of interesting cus one of the days we went to Sand Hallow, a lake. And we got to get in. It was a tad bit chilly, but we had a really fun time. Then one day we went to Las Vegas. We went to different casinos that we had never been in before. It amazes me how beautiful they can make these places. Of course, we went and watched the fountains at the Belagio. We walked through Paris, Venezia and a few more. Even though it's considered sin city, it really is entertaining. I wouldn't want to live there but it is fun to visit sometimes. Again, once I learn how to post pictures, i will get some on of all these activities I speak of.
Then, Bailey had her 1st birthday this past week. I can't believe she is already a year old. I have been getting chances to spend with her everyday this week, trying to help watch her while Chris and Lesley get moved. Oh what a joy she is! She is always so happy and active! I just love being around her and watching her develop. The things she does and her facial expressions are so dang cute! I see Lesley put a picture of her eating her birthday cupcake.
Just a quick update on the selling of our house and the buying of the new one: we close tonight to sale our house, and then on Wednesday morning we will go and close on the new house! Then we will paint the few rooms that need painted on Wednesday, and then try moving all our stuff out on Thursday. Hopefully next time I will have pictures of the house.
So, yes I do question sometimes if the Lord really does know my limits, but even more important I do know that He blesses me too!
Until next time...Happy Thanksgiving. Be sure to take the time to count your blessing!

One thing after another...

Have you ever wondered...Heavenly Father are you sure you don't have me confused with someone else? He says He won't test us past our limits...but I think He must thinking of someone else...because I am way past my limits! Or maybe I should look at it as a compliment, that He has more faith in me than I do. Of course, I am not trying to sound sacrilegious, it's just one of those questions.
Any ways, last week started out that our house had problems with the inspection, there were a lot more things wrong with the house than we ever realized. Seeings that is how it was built. (Don't get me started on how crappy our builder was). So that was one set back. The buyers have been so good, they really want the house, they knew there was a lot of things to be done, so we compromised with them, giving them a repair allowance. But then, the appraiser came and wouldn't finish the appraisal until some of the damages were repaired! UGH!! Again the buyers were very good about it and came out and did the repairs over the weekend. So now we are just waiting on the appraiser to come back out. Then we should be ready to sign papers, and get moved out. On the other hand the house that we are wanting to buy has passed with flying colors and just waiting for us to sign papers on selling our house. At times it has seemed that things are going so fast, but with all the "snags", it seems to be taking forever.
And then, while we have been trying to deal with the house situation, poor Matt has been dealing with car problems. He bought a used car last month. The seller telling Matt that he hadn't had any problems with the car and that it had been good for him. Well, let me tell you, the seller must have known it was time to get rid of it...poor Matt has had to put at least $700. into tires and repairs and the list is still going on of what else needs to be repaired. So needless to say, poor Matt has been on an emotional roller coaster. Which in turns creates a roller coaster for his mommy dear!!!
And then...Erika calls me yesterday asking what she should do about her knee. It has been hurting since last spring. We took her into the doctor then and they told us that it was her IT Band and that all she needed to do was some physical therapy. Well, she has been doing the physical therapy since June, and the knee has gotten worse and worse. So, I got her a doctors appointment to go and see if she could at least get a cortisone shot, to help relieve the pain. The doctor told her it wasn't her IT Band that he thought it was her miniscus and that he wanted to have a MRI. The MRI showed that she does have a torn miniscus and that there is a cyst there also. So the next step is to have surgery and repair the tear and remove the cyst. But of course, there is a snag there also...the doctor suggests that she doesn't play. The team is heading for Hawaii tomorrow, to play their last 3 or 4 games. They are tied for 1st place in their conference. The coach says she needs Erika on the team. SO what do you do? After much contemplation, Erika has decided to go and play, even with the chance of damaging her knee more! I had a feeling that's what she would decide! I ask that everyone please include her in your prayers for the next 10 days, that she will be able to play and not cause more damage! And that she will be able to play her best! And again, with this "trial" momma dear is an emotional wreck!
On a positive note, Bailey turns 1 on Monday, November 3. She is such a joy. I love having the opportunity to babysit her! I forgot how much fun it is to watch babies grow. Happy Birthday, my little Angel Bug!

The weekend and more de-cluttering

Friday night I ushered at the USU Football game against BYU. I don't think I have seen so many disrespectful spectators from both teams as I did at this game. I left appalled at the language and "attitude" of the spectators. I could go on for a long time about them, but I will move on.
Saturday, I spent my morning at our yard sale again...it rained all night and into most of the day, so needless to say the yard sale was a disaster. Then I spent the part of the morning and afternoon listening to General Conference and reading a book. (I am in a better your health challenge and one of our weekly challenges is to read 15 minutes a day.)I truly should have been de-cluttering more and packing, but I found a book in our bookshelf. The book is "The Secret Journal of Brett Colton". It was so touching that I couldn't put it down. I am not much of a reader and for me to find something to keep my interest, it has to be really good. I read the book every chance I got all weekend and finished the whole book by Sunday night. I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to just read a book for enjoyment. Saturday afternoon we also signed papers with the buyer of our home. As of right now, we will have everything finalized and out of the house within 60 days (if not sooner). WOW! So we put a bid on another house, it looks like we will most likely get it but there are a few things we need to work out. Our realtor told us we need to try and speed up our deal with the buyers of our house, so that we will be able to hold on to the house that we have put a bid on. So...rush...rush...rush.
Last night I spent the evening de-cluttering my room, hanging up clothes, boxing clothes...blah, blah, blah. Tonight I will be finishing up in there and starting on another room.
Back to Saturday and Sunday...listening to General Conference. I actually enjoy listening to it. I usually end up having a refreshed feeling, a feeling of starting over again., trying to do better. I can't wait for it to come out so I can reread it.
Pretty much for the next month my life will entail de-cluttering (did I mention I have over 20 years of packratting stuff) and packing, so you may not here much from me, unless anything changes.
Until then, hope you all are having a great week!

De-cluttering, Erika's games, Matt's Homecoming

As mentioned in the last blog, I am beginning (or starting again) to de-clutter my house. Which is kind of funny because you would think that de-cluttering would help make the house cleaner...well not yet. I have boxes everywhere. Garbage, D.I., and book of remembrance stuff, books, crafts. They tell me that it will all be worth it in the end, but for now I can't really find many parts of my floor and not sure I see an end. I guess I should also share with you the reason for starting this massive de-cluttering adventure. Ralph and I have decided to downsize, so we are selling our house (and property) and plan on buying a little bit smaller, more economic home. There it's out! We have pondered this for a long time now. And now that Matt is the only one left at home and he will probably be leaving us in a couple of years, and there is just too much house that needs to be finished and kept up, so it is time. We are having a hard time leaving our beautiful backyard view, but it is time to move on.
Erika made the Dixie college newspaper. So far she is the top scorer on the team and maybe in her division. here is the link if you would like to read about her: http://media.www.dixiesunlink.com/media/storage/paper1365/news/2008/09/24/Sports/Womens.Soccer.Relies.On.Mouritsen.For.Goals-3447618.shtml
After this article she has scored 3 more goals. 2 on Thursday the 25th and then 1 on Saturday the 27th. She is doing really well and we are all so proud of her! Keep it up Erika!
Matt went to the Mountain Crest Homecoming this past weekend. He took his girlfriend Alex. He seems to have fun no matter what he does. They went ice skating for their day date. Alex's parents fixed a steak dinner for them and then off to the dance. I took some pictures but can't seem to find them all. I will have to get Lesley to help me transfer the one's that I can find.
I guess for now that's enough news for one day. I will work on getting the pictures onto the blog. but until then, Hope you all have a great day.

Words Can't Describe

I don't normally take my breaks or go to lunch while I am working, but a co-worker suggested that I go over to the LDS Institute building and visit the exhibit called "Reflections Of Christ" by Mark Mabry. Nick, my co-worker, neglected to suggest that I take tissues with me. OH MY! It was georgeous, amazing, touching. I can say it has been a long time since I have felt that close to our Savior. From the first picture I saw I was teary eyed. And then to sit through the video it is very touching. By the time I walked out of the chapel, where they were showing the video, I had a hard time keeping the tears from coming.

For any of you in the Logan area, I highly suggest going and seeing the exhibit and watching the video documentary. It will be there through October 2, Mondays & Fridays 9-4 and Tues-Thurs 9-9. At the Logan LDS Institute of Religion. The title "Reflections of Christ" gives a great description, but to see the video and the pictures is totally indescribable. I am hoping to take Ralph, Matt and Alex before it ends. We just found the website: http://www.reflectionsofchrist.org/

Other than that, my life has still been pretty mundane. Actually, I have been quite busy lately. Erika had spent a lot of her summer, helping and encouraging me to "de-clutter" our house. Well, she left too soon and I quit when she left. Well, I have decided that it is time! So, I have been spending my nights de-cluttering and fixing up different parts of the house. It is amazing how much JUNK one can collect in one's lifetime.

More to come on this other new (or should I say re-newed) challenge in my life.

My New Challenge

I have had so much fun watching Lesley keeping up on her blog, I thought I would try it for my family. So, Lesley is getting me started. She has given me step by step directions. We will see how well I do. Now the decision is where do I start?

My first time I figure I will give you all a run down on what the family is doing. Of course, really all that's left in the house is Dad, me and Matt.

Chris, Lesley and Bailey are living in Northern Utah. They are doing great and you can always check out how they are doing on their own blog.

Jas and Erin are living in Illinois. He is still attending graduate school. Last week was their 3 month anniversary. Congratulations Jas and Erin!

Erika is still going to school in southern Utah area. Still playing soccer. Last time I checked the stats, she is leading scorer so far! Go Erika!! She will have her Associates Degree at the end of this semester. I will keep you posted as to what she is going to do after that.

Matt is a Junior at his high school. He just bought him a car. He is having so much fun finding all the little knobs and gadgets and figuring where they go and what they do! The down side of having a car is he now has to work to pay for it. Between him spending time with his girlfriend and working, sometimes I wonder if he really does live with us.

Ralph is just working. He really works hard at his job. Between him working a lot and working on his farm...sometimes I wonder if he lives at the house too.

And me...well between babysitting (which I love) and working and running errands after work...people probably think I don't live there either.

So there you have it for now. Until I start getting use to this it may be a few days at a time, but I will keep you posted.
