De-cluttering, Erika's games, Matt's Homecoming

As mentioned in the last blog, I am beginning (or starting again) to de-clutter my house. Which is kind of funny because you would think that de-cluttering would help make the house cleaner...well not yet. I have boxes everywhere. Garbage, D.I., and book of remembrance stuff, books, crafts. They tell me that it will all be worth it in the end, but for now I can't really find many parts of my floor and not sure I see an end. I guess I should also share with you the reason for starting this massive de-cluttering adventure. Ralph and I have decided to downsize, so we are selling our house (and property) and plan on buying a little bit smaller, more economic home. There it's out! We have pondered this for a long time now. And now that Matt is the only one left at home and he will probably be leaving us in a couple of years, and there is just too much house that needs to be finished and kept up, so it is time. We are having a hard time leaving our beautiful backyard view, but it is time to move on.
Erika made the Dixie college newspaper. So far she is the top scorer on the team and maybe in her division. here is the link if you would like to read about her: http://media.www.dixiesunlink.com/media/storage/paper1365/news/2008/09/24/Sports/Womens.Soccer.Relies.On.Mouritsen.For.Goals-3447618.shtml
After this article she has scored 3 more goals. 2 on Thursday the 25th and then 1 on Saturday the 27th. She is doing really well and we are all so proud of her! Keep it up Erika!
Matt went to the Mountain Crest Homecoming this past weekend. He took his girlfriend Alex. He seems to have fun no matter what he does. They went ice skating for their day date. Alex's parents fixed a steak dinner for them and then off to the dance. I took some pictures but can't seem to find them all. I will have to get Lesley to help me transfer the one's that I can find.
I guess for now that's enough news for one day. I will work on getting the pictures onto the blog. but until then, Hope you all have a great day.

Words Can't Describe

I don't normally take my breaks or go to lunch while I am working, but a co-worker suggested that I go over to the LDS Institute building and visit the exhibit called "Reflections Of Christ" by Mark Mabry. Nick, my co-worker, neglected to suggest that I take tissues with me. OH MY! It was georgeous, amazing, touching. I can say it has been a long time since I have felt that close to our Savior. From the first picture I saw I was teary eyed. And then to sit through the video it is very touching. By the time I walked out of the chapel, where they were showing the video, I had a hard time keeping the tears from coming.

For any of you in the Logan area, I highly suggest going and seeing the exhibit and watching the video documentary. It will be there through October 2, Mondays & Fridays 9-4 and Tues-Thurs 9-9. At the Logan LDS Institute of Religion. The title "Reflections of Christ" gives a great description, but to see the video and the pictures is totally indescribable. I am hoping to take Ralph, Matt and Alex before it ends. We just found the website: http://www.reflectionsofchrist.org/

Other than that, my life has still been pretty mundane. Actually, I have been quite busy lately. Erika had spent a lot of her summer, helping and encouraging me to "de-clutter" our house. Well, she left too soon and I quit when she left. Well, I have decided that it is time! So, I have been spending my nights de-cluttering and fixing up different parts of the house. It is amazing how much JUNK one can collect in one's lifetime.

More to come on this other new (or should I say re-newed) challenge in my life.

My New Challenge

I have had so much fun watching Lesley keeping up on her blog, I thought I would try it for my family. So, Lesley is getting me started. She has given me step by step directions. We will see how well I do. Now the decision is where do I start?

My first time I figure I will give you all a run down on what the family is doing. Of course, really all that's left in the house is Dad, me and Matt.

Chris, Lesley and Bailey are living in Northern Utah. They are doing great and you can always check out how they are doing on their own blog.

Jas and Erin are living in Illinois. He is still attending graduate school. Last week was their 3 month anniversary. Congratulations Jas and Erin!

Erika is still going to school in southern Utah area. Still playing soccer. Last time I checked the stats, she is leading scorer so far! Go Erika!! She will have her Associates Degree at the end of this semester. I will keep you posted as to what she is going to do after that.

Matt is a Junior at his high school. He just bought him a car. He is having so much fun finding all the little knobs and gadgets and figuring where they go and what they do! The down side of having a car is he now has to work to pay for it. Between him spending time with his girlfriend and working, sometimes I wonder if he really does live with us.

Ralph is just working. He really works hard at his job. Between him working a lot and working on his farm...sometimes I wonder if he lives at the house too.

And me...well between babysitting (which I love) and working and running errands after work...people probably think I don't live there either.

So there you have it for now. Until I start getting use to this it may be a few days at a time, but I will keep you posted.
